So exciting to see construction beginning at Eliza Howell Park in Northwest Detroit! Sidewalk Detroit has secured a number of grants and worked closely with the City of Detroit to bring this project to fruition.

The project is focused on the north end of the park. Removal of invasive species has been in progress throughout 2019. Over the next two months, Premier Group Associates will be resurfacing and widening a portion of the existing crushed-limestone walking path, adding new limestone walking paths, creating a rain garden to handle stormwater runoff from the road, restoring prairie flora habitat, wet meadow and vernal pond habitat restoration, and creating a boardwalk over the vernal pond.
