livingLAB worked with architects at Felding Nair International and the Hillel Day School Administration to create gathering space, an outdoor learning lab, and innovation hubs in 3 existing courtyards.

livingLAB worked with school staff to understand the needs of the students and teachers, identify the maintenance needs of the administration, and develop a plan that led to interactive spaces that supported classroom learning and curriculum in the outdoor setting.

The spaces incorporated science exploration, arts and culture, native Michigan landscapes, reading circles, vegetable gardens, learning labs, and activity decks, as well as a quiet waiting area for parents waiting for students.
